A route so sweet we'll do it again! Featuring alternative (non-Hwy 9) conveyance from Boulder Creek to Felton, achieved via a bit of climbing and a bit of wagon trail. Lunch on the diminutive Deck of Felton from your pockets, The Grove Cafe, or other nearby purveyors*. Bring a set of sturdy legs, some layers, and lowest expectations for your flailing ride leader. Those perturbed by the substandard pavement of the Los Gatos Creek Trail are welcome to park on Alma Bridge and meet up with the group around 9:15 with advance notice. 02-01-2025 08:30:00 02-01-2025 10:30:00 6 ACTC: Secret Bypass 72 mi, 5 M-MB , 7400 ft: A route so sweet we'll do it again! Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. This is a repeat of my Winter Death Ride training from last week. I have added the less obvious summits to the rwgps route so you may want to download my newest version. I was able to do the entire route within our limited daylight but adjust your route accordingly or bring lights. Jennifer may add Kincaid to Isabella Crk for 1,000 more feet of climbing. She does not run out of daylight. A "U" at Grant Ranch, will give 8,800'. If it looks like it might rain, I will post an update on the Rides Bulletin and may cancel. Jennifer will lead the faster cyclists in front and Melanie will lead from behind. 05-01-2025 08:00:00 05-01-2025 10:00:00 6 ACTC: Death Ride Training 82 mi, 5 LM-M , 10,125 ft: Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. This is a repeat of my Winter Death Ride training from last week. TrailRoller - Harvey Bear

Mountain Goat
Harvey Bear Ranch
Let's kick off the 2025 mountain bike season! We'll start and end from the Harvey Bear entrance off of East San Martin Ave (restrooms and water available). We'll climb up Willow Springs, Townsprings and Ed Willson trails (this may be new to some people). We'll descend to ride the rollers on Calaveras and Valley Oak trails parallel to Coyote Reservoir. We'll descend on Gaviota and return on Savannah back to Willow Springs. This is an "all dirt" route (in spite of what RideWithGPS says) and a no drop ride. Gravel bikes not advised as there may be wet spots or rough cattle trails. Rain or poor air quality will cancel the ride. 05-01-2025 10:00:00 05-01-2025 12:00:00 6 ACTC: TrailRoller - Harvey Bear 16 mi, 3 M , 1800 ft: Let's kick off the 2025 mountain bike season! Alviso Slough Trail
Meet in the west church parking lot, corner of E. Hamilton Ave and Leigh Ave, San Jose. We will ride up to the San Guadalupe River Trail (STAC has a closure this week), do an out and back on the levees (construction limits our ability to do a loop) and return via the Guadalupe River Trail. About 10 miles of this ride are on hard-packed dirt but easily ridden on standard road bikes. Since that section is out and back, early turnaround is possible if it's uncomfortable (the first mile is usually the worst). Shorebird sightings and salt pond views are typically impressive. Regroups as necessary and as always, no one left behind. Optional food and drink at the Pruneyard less than a mile from the start. 13-01-2025 10:00:00 13-01-2025 12:00:00 6 ACTC: Monday Mixed Terrain - Alviso Levees 36 mi, 1 LM-M , 371 ft: Meet in the west church parking lot, corner of E. On Orbit,Old Santa Cruz Hwy,Aptos To Corralitos,Eureka Canyon
Meet at Almaden Lake Park at 8:30 AM for an 8:40 departure. We will access Eureka Canyon in a most breathtaking fashion, saving the Los Gatos Creek Trail for the return so we can use Bohlman / On-Orbit (don't look up!) on the outbound. Bring two full bottles as we have no planned water stop until the park at the bottom of Soquel descent; and expect three brief gravel sectors - Montevina ridge, Loma Prieta Ave., and the creek trail. Lunch in Corralitos. 18-01-2025 08:30:00 18-01-2025 10:30:00 6 ACTC: Eureka Canyon Loop 93 mi, 5 MB , 8900 ft: Meet at Almaden Lake Park at 8:30 AM for an 8:40 departure. Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. I was cold on last week's DRT in the late afternoon on the back and top of Hamilton. It's supposed to be even colder today so I'm doing my "Cold Weather" Route in the low foothills. Daylight is increasing slightly so we should be able to do the entire route within daylight hours but this may not account for long breaks or a flat tire so bring lights just in case. Jennifer may add Kincaid to Isabella Crk for 1,000 more feet of climbing in 90 miles. To shorten the ride, a "U" at Grant Ranch, will give 8,800' in 72 miles. If it looks like it might rain, I will post an update on the Rides Bulletin and may cancel. Jennifer will lead the faster cyclists in front and Melanie will lead from behind. 19-01-2025 08:00:00 19-01-2025 10:00:00 6 ACTC: Death Ride Training 82 mi, 5 LM-M , 10,125 ft: Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. I was cold on last week's DRT in the late afternoon on the back and top of Hamilton. Come join me for a social-paced tour of the Campbell - Saratoga - Los Gatos - Monte Sereno area. There are no major climbs, and we never get west of Hwy 9. None-the-less this is a rather hilly route, so expect lots of up and down. We'll make use of many 'back doors' as we enjoy local suburban beauty. Lunch at Empanadas in Campbell near the end of the ride.

Meet at 9:45 AM at Campbell Community Center, 1 Campbell Ave (meet behind the skate park) for a 10:00 START.
Rain or AQI>100 cancels.

Starting at the Congregational Church (Leigh and Hamilton, west parking lot on Leigh), we will venture west to Rancho San Antonio (RSA) Park, wind our way thru Los Altos Hills and take a shortcut ("Dirty Moody", <1 mile of easy dirt trail suitable for all bikes makes this mixed terrain) up to PA Foothills Park for great views to the north and east. On this chilly day a special person emerged, a little more than 49 years ago. The morning beckons to celebrate someone who's done so much for our club. Hint: She's the co-leadress with a smile. Special party after at Starbucks on Prospect around 12:30pm. Meet at English Drive, across from Prospect High School. No riders' behinds left, your mileage may vary. Side effects may include Walking Corpse Syndrome, Brewer's Droop, or unexpected foreign accents.
