Mt Pleasant,Clayton,Mt Hamilton/Lower,Mt Hamilton/Middle,Mt Hamilton/Upper,Mt Hamilton/Back,Kincaid,Calaveras/Lower,Felter
Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. I will lead the slower riders with the early start. Jennifer will list separately, starting at 8:30 for faster cyclists. Because we are not cycling on Saturday, we are testing how far our relatively fresh legs will take us in a single day. We consider this a DR assessment to see how close we are to finishing all 6 passes. This ride has many "bailout" options, especially at the end of the ride. So you can push yourself to your limit and then limp back to the car. The climbing per mile is similar to the DR. It's about as close as one can get without actually doing the DR. Go at your own pace and shorten the ride as needed. 04-05-2025 07:30:00 04-05-2025 09:30:00 6 ACTC: DRT May the 4th Be With You, Early Start 97.2 mi, 5 LM-M , 13,422 ft: Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. I will lead the slower riders with the early start. Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. Melanie and Jennifer are leading longer rides that start earlier. Because we are not cycling on Saturday, we are testing how far our relatively fresh legs will take us in a single day. This route is exactly the same miles and feet of climb as the first 3 passes of the Death Ride (71.3 mi/10025 ft). It's about as close as one can get without actually doing that part of the DR (obviously, minus the altitude factor). I am going to use this ride to assess my time goals for the DR. Go at your own pace and shorten the ride as needed. 04-05-2025 09:00:00 04-05-2025 11:00:00 6 ACTC: DRT May the 4th Be With You, Three Pass 71.4 mi, 5 LM , 10020 ft: Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. Melanie and Jennifer are leading longer rides that start earlier. Mt Eden/Pierce,Stevens Canyon
This is barely mixed terrain, having only about 10 ft of dirt and a few feet of "cobbleoids", but we'll get a couple of easy goats with the typical Stevens Cyn (dress warm), Mt Eden/Pierce route from the church (west parking lot on Leigh at Hamilton) and return via a meander thru various neighborhoods. Post-ride food/drink after in the Pruneyard. As are all my rides, no one left behind. 05-05-2025 10:00:00 05-05-2025 12:00:00 6 ACTC: Monday Mixed Terrain Meander 36 mi, 4 LM-M , 1902 ft: This is barely mixed terrain, having only about 10 ft of dirt and a few feet of "cobbleoids", but we'll get a couple of easy goats with the typical Stevens Cyn (dress warm), Mt Eden/Pierce route from the church (west parking lot on Leigh at Hamilton) and return via a meander thru various neighborhoods. We will take a relaxing scenic west valley ride to the Tierra Bella Worker's Picnic, partake in the festivities of our hard-won fortune, delight in the commestibles, then return all nourished and marginally enlightened. Be sure to reserve a place . Rain/wet pavement/flying lizards may cancel. Remember that good health is merely the slowest way to die. Ride Start/Finish: Fowler Creek Park on Altia Ave. I will lead the slower riders with the early start. Jennifer will list separately, starting at 8am, for faster cyclists. This route is about as close as one can get without doing the actual DR. The long climbs and climbing per mile are similar to the DR, when analyzing the RWGPS data from actual riders, which eliminates the artifacts. This ride has many "bailout" options, especially at the end of the ride. So you can push yourself to your limit and then limp back to the car. Go at your own pace and shorten the ride as needed. 2 weeks ago, I finished at 8pm. Sunnyvale Baylands
Meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM departure at the entrance to the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden on Naglee between Bascom and Park. We'll make our way to the Stevens Creek Trail, connect to the Bay Trail, and return via the Guadalupe Creek Trail (check Rides Bulletin elist for alternate routes due to flooding, etc). Lunch at the Park Station Hashery after the ride, about 2 blocks from the ride start. The PSH will close May 28 so these will be the last rides there. Rain or bad air quality cancels. Note: This ride will be at a slower pace (LM-M: 12 to 16 mph). For a faster pace (14 -18 mph), join Rick Gilbert's 9:45 ride (sign in at 9:30). Both ride leaders tend to lead from the back. 27-05-2025 10:00:00 27-05-2025 12:00:00 6 ACTC: Sunnyvale Baylands: Relaxed Pace 31 mi, 1 LM-M : Meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM departure at the entrance to the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden on Naglee between Bascom and Park.
