Inspired by my new nickname, we will start at 9:30 (pdt) from Whole Foods Market (near SAP Center and Diridon Transit Center) for another journey of spectacular sights. Will this be your recovery ride or the main event of the week? This area is very public transit friendly. Please bring your snacks, mask, fluids, and tools for any unfortunate events. I can accomodate slower riders, and environmental hazards may cancel. Intercambiamos historias!

JUST ANOTHER MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURE Ride. This Friday's (5-6-22) ride will be on the John Nicholas Trail & part of the Skyline Trail. We will meet at 2:00 pm in the small parking area at the John Nicholas Trailhead in Sanborn Park on Black Road. The John Nicholas Trail is a big climb up, but very fun downhill. The Skyline Trail has some ups & downs paralleling Skyline Road. Almost the entire ride will be under canopy (in the trees). To get to the John Nicholas Trailhead, take the Bear Creek Road exit off Hwy 17, go straight across Bear Creek Road at the stop sign, continue on Montevina Road for about an eight of a mile, turn left onto Black Road and continue 3.4 miles to the small parking area. (Parking is at a premium so you may have to find a spot either up or down the road from the trailhead.) Bring all necessary supplies. Hope to see you there.

Starting at Almaden Lake Park by the bocce ball courts, we will ride streets to enter Calero Park from the Almaden Road side, make the loop and exit to McKean Road to return. This trip, we will add Oak Cove trail out and back (which can be an option), adding another 9 miles of gently rolling single-track. About half of this ride is dirt: fire roads and not very technical single-track with some loose rock in spots, but does req. skills beyond the typical road ride. The terrain is suitable for gravel or mountain bikes with tires of 35 mm or more. Most climbs are only 6-7% with some very short steeper pitches. Water and toilets are not available until the Calero parking lot, mile 24. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37803332. If your knobbies aren't much fun on the pavement, you can join us in the park at 10:15 (we won't leave before then) at the point marked TH in the RwGPS route.

Please review the ACTC Covid-19 Ride Guidelines prior to riding.
