If you want to improve your skills or performance, or if you are training for a specific event such as a century or a double century, proper training is important to not only help you reach your goal but also to help prevent injury and make cycling more enjoyable and safe. The articles below go from the new cyclists to to advanced training skills. The training sections below are broken up based on where you are as a cyclist and what your interests are.
The New Cyclists
The ACTC Academy offers Twelve weeks of cycling instruction for adults who want to become competent cyclists. The course consists of two six-week modules.
ACTC does not offer any specific training beyond the ACTC Academy. Those who are interesting learing additional skills and improving their performance and endurance may want to use an organization like Team in Training, learn from other club members on club rides, use the services of a proffesional coach or use the articles below and then work on the skills on club rides. The follwoing training articles and are only for those who are in good physical condition. Check with your doctor before embarking on any training program.
