This ride will be led at a real LM pace, not even a little faster. My
philosophy about this ride is that we have a short amount of time on Earth, so
why not stop and smell the roses. Usually expect at least 4 regroups and nobody
to be left behind. We will eventually do most of the goats in the Los Gatos
area, just not too many at a time. We will usually do the same goat as Tyler's
WnD ride. Both rides are social. We will do some sixes, but not the hardest
sixes. Route sheets provided on-line at the website and at the ride. Meet at
Summit Bikes on Main Street in Los Gatos, across the street from the Los Gatos

This ride will be led at the pace we rode last year, or maybe a little

places to ride your own pace, one before and during the goat and the other near
the finish. We will eventually do most of the goats in the Saratoga/Los Gatos
area. We will usually do the same goat as Steve's WnD ride. Route sheets

Thu, 27 May Two-Day Ride to GWBR - Day 1
6:00 AM 95 mi, 3 LM
Grizzly Bear Ride to GWBR
The best part of the GWBR is riding down to the Rally, and taking two days,
staying Thursday night in King City, is a most enjoyable option. We depart at 6
AM Thursday from our house in south San Jose, stopping for breakfast at Betsy's
in Morgan Hill, with lunch in Gonzales, as we follow the tailwinds of River Rd.
to King City. We will provide route sheets and regroup about every hour. Make
your own reservations in King City (Keefers Inn 831-385-4843 recommended) and at
the Rally. We will be able to transport your gear for the Rally if you deliver
it to us by Wednesday the 26th. We will also be able to carry several bikes on
our truck back to San Jose on Monday, but no people. So, make your own return
arrangements (there are always lots of cars returning). See Fri, 28 May for Day
Two details.

Mon, 31 May Remembering Why We Have Memorial Day

Grizzly Bear Memorial Day
Memorial Day was established so that the people of the United States would
remember the sacrifices made for our country by centuries of members of our
military forces. Starting from the Lake Almaden VTA Park-and-Ride at the corner
of Coleman and Winfield, we will ride to places where we can observe some vivid
examples of their contributions. Remember, Bob doesn't do hills.

Slap some slicks on your mountain bike and join us on a three day
exploratory jaunt on sparsely traveled roads. Day 1 finds us tackling the Iowa
Hill area near Colfax (46 miles). We will then journey to the San Francisco
Viking ski club cabin on Donner Pass. Accommodations are rustic, yet
comfortable for a very affordable cost. Group meals at the cabin. Day 2 we
will stay in the high country, biking some of the local fire roads with lunch
down in Truckee. Day 3 will take us to Foresthill (east of Auburn) for some
challenging climbs. No one gets left behind as we explore, but strong legs and
lungs are necessary as the altitude goes to 8,000 feet.
