ACTC maintains a both an announcement list and several discussion email lists. The difference is that only the webmaster can post to the announcement list and information will be coming from the board and select individuals. The discussion email lists are open only to club members but anyone subscribed can post to that list.
To subscribe or unsubscribe to the Announcement List (open to anyone)
To subscribe fill in your name, email address and click the subscribe button. You will be sent an email that you need to verify by clicking a link in it.
To subscribe or unsubscribe to any of the Discussion Lists (open only to club members)
ACTC
members are also encouraged to subscribe to the Club's discussion lists. It will enable you to post and receive last minute ride
announcements or changes, or other cycling or Club activity news from other members. All postings to the main elist (elist@actc.org) should be either cycling related or related to a club sponsored activity. Cycling related includes cycling equipment, cycling rides (both club and non club), training, cycling safety and cycling advocacy. Anyone abusing these simple guideline will be blocked from posting for a period of time.
Appropriate postings to elist would
include personal for-sale items, road closures, requests for
help or information, training tips, about cycling tours you have taken and other cycling related information.
DO
NOT POST:
Greeting cards, virus warnings, jokes, chain letters or political messages (unless they are specifically related to cycling). Do not post commercial items where the poster has a financial interest. NO ATTACHMENTS, PLEASE! Consistent abusers will be removed from the list.
Additional lists have been established that will appeal to part of the club membership. Since these are more targeted lists the above rules do not necessarily apply, but the content should be appropriate considering the nature of the specialty list.
A few items to note about all of the ACTC discussion lists. First, only ACTC Members may subscribe to any of the following lists. Therefore do not include the email lists of other organizations in your distribution or when members of that organization do a reply to all, their messages will be blocked and the webmaster has to deal with those individually rejected emails. Second, only subscribed users may post to a list. For each list, click for instructions to subscribe or unsubscribe.
